How to sync your store, set your defaults, read a suggestion, map bundles and kits, create purchase orders, and move your data to another store.
Last updated
Before you start
- You need a Shopify store. The app opens inside your Shopify admin.
- A store owner, or staff with permission to manage apps, installs it.
- The app only reads your store. It never changes products, stock, orders or anything else in Shopify.
Install the app
Install Bundle-Aware Reorder Planner from the Shopify App Store. Shopify asks you to approve what the app can read:
- Products: variants, SKUs, vendors, product types, status, unit costs and Shopify bundle components.
- Inventory: available, on-hand and incoming stock per location.
- Locations: location names.
- Orders: to count units sold per variant per day. The app doesn’t read customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.
There are no write permissions. You start on the Free plan, and Change plan opens Shopify’s plan page (see Plans). Billing is handled by Shopify.
The first time you open the app, a short tour on Home walks through the six main steps. You can skip it at any step, and replay it from Help with Show tour again.
Sync your sales and stock
Sync starts on install. The app reads your variants, stock per location and order history in the background, and Home shows its progress with a count of records processed. You can leave the app and come back; progress stays on Home.
When the first sync finishes, suggestions appear. After that, new orders and stock changes reach the app as they happen, and a nightly check corrects the last 3 days of sales.
If a sync fails, a banner stays on Home until it’s fixed. Choose Retry sync. The counts on Home keep their last good values, marked with when they were taken.
How much history is used. The app uses as much order history as Shopify lets it read. By default Shopify gives apps the last 60 days of orders; older orders need Shopify’s approval. Help shows the date your history starts.
Set your defaults
Open Settings:
- Default lead time: days from placing an order to receiving it.
- Coverage: how many days of sales an order should cover.
- Safety: extra days of stock kept as a buffer.
- Sales window: 30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days of sales used for the daily rate.
- Use last-year factor: adjusts the rate by the same period last year. It needs 365 or more days of history.
- Default location scope: all locations or a single location.
- Ship-to location for combined purchase orders.
- Exclusions: whether archived, draft and unlisted products are included. All three are off by default.
Every suggestion uses these defaults unless you override them for a supplier or a variant.
Read a suggestion
Suggestions lists each variant with its available and incoming stock, daily rate, reorder point, suggested quantity, stockout date and planning mode. Rows that need ordering now are marked Reorder now.
Open a row to see How this quantity was calculated:
- Sales: the sales window, units sold in it, how many of those came from bundles, the daily rate and the last-year factor.
- Timing: lead time, safety stock (daily rate × safety days) and reorder point (daily rate × lead time + safety stock).
- Stock: available and incoming.
- Quantity: enough for lead time plus coverage, plus safety stock, minus available and incoming stock, rounded up to the pack size.
Each line shows its own sum, so you can check every step. The page also shows weekly sales for the window, and lets you change the variant’s planning mode, supplier, supplier SKU, unit cost and pack size.
Forecast, manual or hybrid
Each variant has a planning mode:
- Forecast: the calculation above.
- Manual: when stock reaches your min, the app suggests ordering up to your max.
- Hybrid: the forecast, kept between your min and max.
Set the mode inline on Suggestions or on a suggestion’s page. To set many at once, export Planning modes from Import & export, edit the CSV and import it. Planning modes import works on every plan.
Filter and combine locations
- Switch between All locations (stock and sales summed) and Single location at the top of Suggestions and Buildable stock.
- Filter by Location, Vendor, Supplier, Product type and Sales rank (top 10, 20 or 50%).
- Include archived, Include draft and Include unlisted are off by default.
Suppliers
Suppliers groups your purchase orders. You can:
- Add supplier: name, email, phone, lead time in days, default pack size, currency and notes.
- Create from product vendors: one supplier per vendor in your catalog.
- Import a supplier CSV from Import & export, with column mapping you can save (Standard).
On a supplier’s page, assign all variants of a vendor in one step. A supplier’s lead time and pack size are used for its variants unless a variant overrides them.
The app never contacts your suppliers. Their details are used to group purchase orders and fill in the email you send yourself.
Map bundles and kits (Standard)
In Bundles & kits:
- Prefill from Shopify bundles creates maps from bundles set up with Shopify’s own bundle components.
- Add map lets you choose the bundle variant, then Add component for each variant inside it, with its quantity.
Once a bundle is mapped, each bundle sale adds its components’ quantities to their demand.
If your bundle app already adds the component items to each order, tick Orders already contain the component items. The app then doesn’t count them twice.
Components must be Shopify variants. Materials that only exist outside Shopify can’t be mapped in this version.
See what you can build (Standard)
Buildable stock shows, for each mapped kit, how many you can build from current component stock, per location or all locations combined. It also names the limiting component, the one that runs out first, and its available stock.
Create and send purchase orders (Standard)
- On Suggestions, pick Single location to order for one location, or All locations to order for all of them combined.
- Select the rows you want to order and choose Create purchase orders. For all locations combined, choose where the delivery goes under Ship to.
- The app creates one draft purchase order per supplier, numbered PO-0001, PO-0002 and so on.
On a draft, edit each line’s quantity and unit cost. Then:
- Mark as sent. From then on its quantities count as incoming in your suggestions.
- Email supplier opens your own email app with the supplier’s address, the PO number and its lines filled in. You send it yourself.
- Download CSV or Printable view gives you a copy to send another way.
When the delivery arrives, update your stock in Shopify first, then enter each line’s received quantity and choose Mark received in the app. That clears the incoming quantity. Cancel PO cancels an order you no longer need.
Purchase orders lists every order with its supplier, location, lines, total and status (draft, sent, received or cancelled), and exports to CSV.
Export and move data to another store
Import & export exports each table to CSV: suggestions, explanations, suppliers, component maps, purchase orders, purchase order lines, buildable stock and planning modes. Each export has exactly the columns shown in the app, and Export CSV on Suggestions, Purchase orders and Buildable stock exports the rows you’ve filtered.
To move to another store:
- Choose Export store bundle. It downloads a .zip of CSVs with your settings, suppliers, component maps, planning modes and purchase orders.
- In the app on the other store, upload it under Import store bundle (Standard, .zip up to 10 MB).
- Check the preview: matched and unmatched SKUs for each section. Variants are matched by SKU.
- Choose Apply import.
Plans
Settings shows your current plan and its limit. Change plan opens Shopify’s plan page, where you pick or change a plan. Billing is monthly, handled by Shopify.
| Plan | Variants with suggestions | Suggestions, explanations, planning modes, filters, combined locations, CSV export | Purchase orders, bundles and kits, buildable stock, supplier CSV and store bundle import |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Up to 250 | Yes | No |
| Standard | Up to 10,000 | Yes | Yes |
| Pro | Up to 25,000 | Yes | Yes |
When your catalog is bigger than your plan’s limit, suggestions cover your best-selling variants up to the limit, and a banner says so. Features above your plan stay visible, labelled Standard, and switched off.
Standard and Pro start with a 7-day free trial. For prices, see the plans on the Shopify App Store listing. Uninstalling the app ends the charges.
What it doesn’t do
This version only reads your store. It doesn’t receive stock into Shopify, run stocktakes, transfers or barcode scanning, or reduce component stock as kits sell. It doesn’t send emails of any kind, forecast sales from other channels, sync live between stores, or track landed costs. Its forecasts are fixed arithmetic, not AI.
FAQ
Why don’t I see suggestions yet? The first sync reads your full catalog and sales history. Home shows its progress, and suggestions appear when it finishes. If a banner shows an error, choose Retry sync or contact support.
How is the reorder quantity calculated? With fixed arithmetic, not AI: average daily sales over your window, times lead time plus coverage, plus safety stock, minus stock on hand and incoming, rounded up to the pack size. Every row shows its working.
Can I keep my own min and max for some products? Yes. Use manual mode for a fixed min and max, or hybrid to keep the forecast between them. Other products stay on forecast.
Does it forecast bundles? Yes, on Standard. Map each bundle to its components, and bundle sales then add to component demand, without double counting if your bundle app already splits orders.
Are purchase orders included on the first paid plan? Yes. Purchase orders are on Standard. The Free plan shows suggestions and their explanations.
Does the app email my suppliers, or send me marketing emails? No. Email supplier opens your own email app with the purchase order filled in. The app sends no emails.
Does receiving a purchase order update my Shopify stock? No. The app only reads stock. Update stock in Shopify, then mark the purchase order received in the app to clear its incoming quantities.
How much sales history is used? As much order history as Shopify lets the app read: the last 60 days by default, longer if Shopify approves access to older orders. Help shows the start date.
What happens to my data and charges if I uninstall? Shopify stops the subscription, and everything the app stores for your store is deleted within an hour. Export a store bundle first if you want to keep it.
Do you store customer information? No. Orders are read only to count units sold per variant per day. No customer names, emails or addresses are stored. The privacy policy has the details.
Troubleshooting
- Home shows a sync error. Choose Retry sync. If it fails again, email support with your myshopify domain and the error shown on Help.
- A product is missing from Suggestions. Check the filters, and whether the product is archived, draft or unlisted. Those are hidden unless you turn their toggles on. On a large catalog, it may be outside your plan’s variant limit.
- Create purchase orders is greyed out. Purchase orders need the Standard or Pro plan, and at least one selected row.
- A component’s demand looks doubled. If your bundle app adds the component items to orders, tick Orders already contain the component items on the bundle’s map.
- Incoming stock isn’t counted. Only purchase orders marked as sent count as incoming.
- Some SKUs are unmatched on import. The other store’s variants need the same SKUs. Unmatched rows are left out when you apply the import.
- Something else. See Support.
