How to reach me

Countdown to the Minute is made and supported by me, Christian Ortiz, publishing as Christian Ortiz Studio. Email support@christianortiz.studio and the message comes straight to me. There’s no ticket queue to get lost in.

Before you write, the documentation may already have the answer, especially its FAQ and troubleshooting sections. In the app, Help (the question mark on the Countdowns screen) has the same how-tos, the widget guide and the Widget not showing? checklist.

When you’ll hear back

I reply to every message within two business days (Monday to Friday, 5 pm to 9 pm US Pacific Time), and usually sooner. If the app can’t open your countdowns, put Recovery in the subject line and I’ll look at it first.

Widget not showing?

Most widget problems are fixed by the in-app checklist, Help → Widget not showing?:

  1. Remove the widget and add it again.
  2. Touch and hold it, tap Edit Widget, and choose a countdown.
  3. Open the app once after an update.
  4. Check the countdown’s time zone and Specific time.

Then tap Refresh all widgets. If it’s still wrong, email me (see below).

Report a bug

Email me with as much of this as you can:

  • Your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About).
  • The app version (on the App Store page, or Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Countdown to the Minute).
  • What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
  • For a wrong number: the countdown’s date, whether Specific time is on and the time, its time zone, the unit, and what the app and the widget showed.
  • A screenshot, if you can.

The app sends me nothing by itself, so your email is the only way I’ll know. I’ll confirm I can reproduce it, tell you what I’m doing about it, and let you know when a fix is released.

The one-time unlock

  • Restore it: tap Restore Purchases in Settings or on the unlock screen, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. It works on a new iPhone and after reinstalling.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, not by me: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase is refunded, your countdowns are kept and the extra themes go back to Ink.
  • Receipts are in your Apple Account’s purchase history. Settings → Manage purchases in the app opens Apple’s purchase screen.

Report a security issue

If you’ve found a security problem, email me with Security in the subject line and include how to reproduce it. Please don’t post it publicly until it’s fixed. I acknowledge security reports within two business days.

Request a feature

I’d like to hear it. Tell me what you’re counting down to and where the app gets in the way; the most useful requests describe what you’re trying to do, not just the button. I read every one, and I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s likely to be built.

Your data

Your countdowns are stored only on your iPhone. I never receive them, so there’s nothing on my side to delete.

  • Delete one: swipe it in the list and tap Delete.
  • Delete all: Settings → Delete all countdowns.
  • Delete everything: delete the app from your iPhone. That removes all its data, including its widgets’ data and any data file set aside by recovery.

If you email me, I keep your message as long as needed to help you, and delete it on request. The privacy policy has every detail.
